About
I moved to Austin in 1997 to attend college at St. Edward’s University where I earned a Bachelors of Arts in Criminal Justice. In 2005, I earned a Masters of Science in Social Work (Clinical Track) from the University of Texas at Austin. In addition to being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I am also a board-approved supervisor for Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSW) working toward advanced licensure, and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC).
I have been able to practice in a variety of clinical settings focused on adult mental health, trauma, addiction, and adults experiencing life transitions. I utilize a person-centered approach, based on each individual’s needs and goals, to guide our sessions. Approaches may include modalities such as Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and many others. In therapy, I want to create a space for you to share yourself and your story with me. I believe in the resiliency of the human spirit and that we all possess the strength to overcome life’s challenges. It is my hope that by working together, I may help you find that strength.
I also have extensive experience in conducting assessments for Emotional Support Animals (ESA). I offer these assessments and the necessary documentation for an ESA, to those that qualify based on a mental health condition (as recognized by the DSM-V-TR). This service is available even if you are not a current psychotherapy client.
All are welcome here. This practice provides affirming, respectful care tailored to your unique experiences and needs.
In my personal life, I am the mother to elementary school aged twins, a social justice advocate, and a culinary enthusiast!
